Worm Power is a comprehensive, complex bio-chemical system created from worms living in and working through high-quality feedstock in an optimal environment. Our process delivers a full-featured, soil-based ecosystem that supports nutritional balance and crop health by strengthening the physical structure, chemical composition and biological activity of the soil that plants are grown in.

1. Feedstock Preparation

De-watered bovine manure and small amounts of silage are the only inputs for composting. Manure is free of veterinary treatment residues.

2. Thermophillic Composting

The material is composted in oxygenated bins for an average of 40 days. Temperatures naturally stay at a range of 140°-170°F.

  • Time and temperature regime meets and exceeds USDA/NOP requirements for pathogen reduction in full compliance with O.M.R.I. standards.
  • Weed seeds are deactivated.
  • Proliferation of beneficial bacteria is supported. Actinobacter (Aerobic Microorganisms) bacterial filaments lace the material with a fresh forest-floor aroma.

3. Vermicomposting

The compost is layered on top of continuous-flow beds, densely populated with “Red Wiggler” worms (Eisenia fetida).

  • Millions of worms consume the material and it passes through their digestive tract.
  • Finished product—a blend of worm castings and worm-worked material—is auto-harvested from the bottom after about six weeks.
